Today I spun out on the highway due to the roads being more slippery than I anticipated. Luckily I was okay, my car even incurred no damage, but I became stuck in a ditch, and needed roadside assistance. I contacted Progressive, and they assigned Total Car Care to tow my vehicle. The spin out happened at 9 am. The request was made by 9:10 am. Total Car Care arrived at approximately 12:56 pm. So I waited for them to arrive on the side of the highway, for just under 4 hours (3 hrs 46 mins-3 hrs 56 mins). They then told me they were not equipped to get me out because their vehicle could potentially be pulled into the mud as well, and quickly left. I'm not mad about them saying they weren't equipped to do the job, stuff like that happens. I am, however, quite offended that they took 4 hours to make it to my location. That is shamefully, shamefully bad service. Shamefully bad service. Imagine if someone was trying to sell you on Roadside Assistance paid for within your insurance, which you have to pay extra for per month, and they told you that assistance would take on average 4 hours to reach you. You would never, ever opt for that service. Shamefully bad service.
